  • STONE AND STRAND is looking for an outstanding Retail, Sales & Merchandising Director who will serve as a right-hand to Founder/CEO, helping to drive sales across all channels of the brand with a specific focus on retail sales.

    We launched our NYC boutique in May and are looking to grow sales at this location with the goal to ultimately expand the number of stores that we have across the country.

    We are looking for someone who can be a leader within the company by hiring, training, developing, and creating policies for all of our retail operations, and additional help to oversee sales across the company ensuring that we meet our sales targets.

    We’re a fast-moving company obsessed with delivering the best possible customer experience, across IRL and digital touchpoints and this role is absolutely central to our success.

    We are looking for someone who loves jewelry as much as we do, who understands the fine jewelry customer and is passionate about ensuring that we have the right offering for her.

    You will lead merchandising, buying and assortment decisions across the company to ensure sell-through of our inventory and product.

    The ideal candidate will be extremely motivated, super organized, a talented and respected leader, and demonstrate an exceptional level of attention to detail.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Drive revenue across our retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels, strategically planning ahead and supporting all teams to execute successfully to hit KPIs
    • Planning and managing our product assortment to ensure that we are successfully developing and selling products that our customers want
    • Identifying product trends and customer insights that will drive sales growth
    • Lead all in person sales event across the company including our retail boutique, as well as pop-ups and trunk shows
    • Run a P&L for the store and manage the business to hit profitability targets
    • Manage and service the STONE AND STRAND retail location, including oversight of all store employees and tracking to established financial goals and service expectations
    • Oversee the operational needs of STONE AND STRAND pop up experiences
    • Identify and execute on trunk shows with key wholesale partners that will raise brand awareness and drive sales growth for the company
    • Develop and drive future retail growth strategy and operations, starting with the launch of flagship store and expansion nationally
    • Ideate, manage and drive sales & marketing initiatives in support of broader STONE AND STRAND brand, with particular focus on retail
    • Develop and execute on retail sales marketing strategies to drive foot traffic and sales in-store (customer experiences, events, etc.)
    • Organize events at the store on a regular basis that generate buzz for the brand
    • Reach out to relevant press to feature the store in jewelry listings
    • Identify and partner with key influencers and partners that can help to raise brand awareness
    • Ensure all customer touchpoints tell our brand store and brand values aesthetic
    • Serve as the key customer advocate within the company, leading customer service functions across the board, ultimately ensuring customer happiness
    • Ensure all customer calls and emails are responded to in a timely manner and to the customer’s satisfaction
    • Develop and grow our in-house customer service team, taking a hands-on management approach with all direct reports as we build and cultivate a vital CX function
    • Monitor reviews of the company and resolve any issues expressed by unhappy customers
    • Leverage customer feedback on all aspects of their experience, passing on learnings to the rest of the team
    • Create and communicate customer service policies for the company

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Experience in hiring and in managing; eager to mentor, educate, and direct
    • Bachelor’s degree in communication, hospitality, or related fields
    • 5+ years of professional experience in retail
    • 3+ years of professional experience in sales

    • $80 - $120K Base plus bonus

  • STONE AND STRAND is looking for a motivated and creative social media intern to join our marketing team. This internship is a great opportunity to expand your social media marketing skills and gain visibility of the marketing department. The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in marketing, communications or a related degree, and have prior internship experience in social media marketing with a successful track record of storytelling and brand identity. Reporting directly to our marketing manager, the intern will help to drive traffic and awareness to our retail store, build and execute our ambitious growth goals for all organic social media channels, interact with and understand our followers and customers, and collaborate with influencers, bloggers, and brands. This role will enable potential customers to discover STONE AND STRAND through people and brands they already trust, by acquiring new brand advocates and building meaningful and successful relationships.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Brainstorm and research content ideas
    • Film, edit and optimize own social media content for the website and digital channels to drive traffic to the store and site
    • Organize partnerships/influencer visits to drive awareness of and traffic to the store
    • Assisting in the daily management of all organic social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest
    • Help with replying to public-facing comments, engaging with our customers, and replying to private DMs

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Recent graduate or seeking a degree in marketing, communications, or a related degree
    • Ability to navigate all social media platforms and be comfortable on camera

    • Requirements

    • This position is in person between our Soho office and showroom
    • Must be available January 16, 2023 - May 10th, 2024
    • The ideal candidate is available to work 24-40 hours per week including weekends/evenings based on store event schedule. Preference will be given to availability on Monday/Wednesday/Friday with a full work day either on Wednesday or Friday. Please share your availability when applying for this position.

  • STONE AND STRAND is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our retail team and drive sales growth. The Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, achieving sales targets, and maximizing profitability. As the ultimate leader of the store, you will be responsible for motivating and developing the staff to deliver outstanding customer experiences.


    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Sales

    • Create a welcoming and helpful buying experience for customers, providing the highest level of customer service.
    • Meet and exceed daily sales goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the store.
    • Develop and maintain customer relationships, keeping them informed about new collections, in-store events, and promotions.
    • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of how to style jewelry to create a complete STONE AND STRAND look.
    • Promptly and effectively resolve any customer problems or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Participate in organizing special in-store events, partnerships, and activations to drive sales.
    • Drive exposure to the store through local and community outreach activities.
    • Actively engage and lead on the sales floor, interacting with customers.
    • Operations

    • Ensure inventory accuracy and meet shrink requirements by conducting weekly counts of high-value items.
    • Understand and execute all Point of Sale (POS) register functions accurately.
    • Conduct monthly stock takes to maintain inventory control.
    • Enforce all company policies and procedures within the store.
    • Process and record products correctly in the inventory management system.
    • Communicate inventory needs to support business goals.
    • Ensure proper processing and recording of new launches, appointments, and replenishments in the inventory system.
    • Analyze sales reports and data to determine store needs.
    • Assist with operational tasks, including merchandising and general store upkeep.
    • Retail Marketing

    • Collaborate on store social media content, focusing on product launches and special in-store services.
    • Manage the influencer strategy for retail, particularly related to store activations and events.
    • Participate in special in-store events, partnerships, and activations to drive brand awareness and sales.
    • Maintain and update the Retail Event Planning Calendar regularly.
    • Build brand presence, create dynamic content, educate customers, and engage with the local community to generate store traffic.
    • Visual Merchandising/Product

    • Implement and maintain attractive merchandising displays.
    • Ensure the selling floor is clean, organized, and reflects the brand's image.
    • Identify and communicate product concerns in a timely manner.

      Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail jewelry sales and jewelry store management.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and enhance the overall customer experience.
    • Strong analytical skills to track performance metrics, identify growth opportunities, and provide data-driven customer feedback.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
    • Bachelor's degree required.

    Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt Work Location: 21 Crosby Street, NY 10013, USA Compensation Package: $28 - $30 per hour plus commission on personal sales, benefits, PTO and more.
